Kinetico Names New Vice President, Research and Development

Jerome Kovach, a 20-year Kinetico Veteran, to Lead Kinetico Innovation

NEWBURY, Ohio, Aug. 18, 2009—Kinetico Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of water treatment systems based in Ohio, announces the appointment of Jerome Kovach to vice president, research and development. Kovach started at Kinetico in 1989, working with its commercial and industrial products. In 1997, he transitioned to Kinetico's consumer products area, focusing on the company's residential and commercial product lines. The past three years, Kovach has worked as Kinetico's director of product management.

Kovach received his bachelor of arts degree in biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his MBA with a focus on international marketing from Case's Weatherhead School of Management. Kovach was actively involved in the initiation, development and release of Hydrus, Kinetico's line of commercial softening and filtration valves and systems. He has also been invited to speak at the Water Quality Association's annual convention on several occasions.

Kovach's education, previous experience and interest in the water treatment industry combined with the seasoned customer and market perspective he's acquired over the years, make him the ideal candidate for the vice president, research and development, position at Kinetico. "As the rate of technological change increases and the pace of market innovation accelerates, Kinetico's research and development strategy must reflect a keen understanding of the different success models being employed globally. In his new role, Jerry's mandate is to outline an R&D strategy that improves our product time-to-market and best leverages the value of collaborative research communities and market innovation partnerships," states Shamus Hurley, Kinetico CEO.

"For years, Kinetico has been viewed as an innovative leader in the water quality industry," states Kovach. "My goal is to extend this recognition to other industries as well. I love this company and enjoy what I do. My personal life has been intertwined with Kinetico since day one. I met my wife here, moved to rural Ohio, traveled the world and seized every opportunity the company gave me. It's been amazing."

Kovach is taking the position vacated by long-time Kinetico employee Chris Hansen, who is leaving the company.
